Do not forget to participate in your local municipal elections held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. Both Jackson and Cape Girardeau have important tax referendums on the ballot this year. The CapeDems support the passing of both of these initiatives. We support the public safety initiative in Jackson, which increases taxes to increase police presence and safety in schools. We also support continuing the Parks and Storm Water tax in Cape Girardeau, which will provide the funds to continue expanding their park system. A park system that serves as both an economic driver and an attractive perk for new families considering a move to Cape.
