The Cape Girardeau County Democratic Womens Club is hosting county clerk, Kara Clark Summers. She will be providing information on proposed changes to Missouri’s voter law known as HB 1878*.
The county is also recruiting election judges to make our democracy work.
*HB1878 was passed by the General Assembly, but as of Sunday, 6/5/22, has not yet been signed by Governor Parson. If signed it would not go into effect until August 28, 2022, AFTER the Primary Election.
HB1878 (known as ‘photo voter’) is a bad bill with many anti-democratic features. It is being sold by proponents as a package of voting security features, but in reality is designed for voter suppression. Please contact Gov. Parson at 573-751-3222 and ask him to veto HB1878.
